Summer 2024 Recap

The Friends kicked off summer by attending Moorestown Day on June 1. We hosted a table with treats and free summer beach reads. Many people stopped by throughout the day to take a treat, a book, or a membership form. It was wonderful for trustees and volunteers to meet so many of you!

Some of the free books we gave away joined the total tally of 8,936 books read during the library’s Summer Reading program. The Friends of the Library is proud to sponsor the summer reading prizes. This year, 1,200 readers earned 1,136 prizes, including over 350 $10 gift cards, free book coupons, a picnic basket, and a $50 Barnes and Noble gift card.

At our last Friends’ Board of Trustees meeting before summer, we approved funding to purchase a second pass for the Please Touch Museum. The first pass proved incredibly popular. We wanted to ensure that more patrons could experience the museum during school recess. The Friends of the Library supports 25+ museum passes that are available to Library cardholders for FREE. The museum passes continue to be extremely popular, and we hope to add more next year.
